UPCOMING AUDITIONS

Paramount Pictures is holding an open casting call Saturday for extras for the feature film 'FUN SIZE,' a comedy set on Halloween starring Victoria Justice (Nickelodeon) Thomas Mann and Jackson 'Tek' Nicoll.

Extras must be 6 years of age or older and need to come between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday (June 4) to the former Cleveland Playhouse, 8500 Euclid Avenue, CLEVELAND, OHIO 44106. Anyone under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Casting hopefuls need to bring an up-to-date photo and, if possible, a photo of you in a Halloween costume. There is plenty of free parking at the Playhouse.

All extras will be PAID positions.

The movie is tentatively scheduled to be shot entirely in Cleveland from June through August.

Parents are encouraged to be extras with their children. This movie takes place on Halloween and 80 percent of the extras will be in costumes.

Paramount is seeking some creative characters, like a human Transformer, as well as a wide variety of innovative Halloween costumes.

This production also needs a wide variety of extras with cars. If interested, please bring a photo of your car to the open call.

Paramount is specifically looking for a blue Suburban, a 1973 Pontiac Firebird, an Impala low-rider, F-150 cool trucks, a Honda Civic, a Cadillac with switches and modified imports (Fast and Furious cars)

CASTING CALL FOR TWO INDEPENDENT FEATURE FILMS:

Nocturnals:
Nocturnals is about a group of live action role-playing gamers who are forced to battle real life monsters and demons when a rogue member of their group willingly awakens an ancient and powerful evil!

Devil’s Point:
The mysterious area of woods, known to the locals as Devil’s Point, harbors a dark secret no one suspects. After being attacked by something evil there, Michael finds that people in his life are dying with increasingly bizarre circumstances. With all signs pointing at him being the one responsible for their deaths, he begins to question his own reality and now must find some way of overcoming the tragedy that haunts him before it is too late.

We are looking for both actors and actresses of all types and ages to fill several lead and supporting roles in these movies.

Filming will begin in July for Nocturnals and September for Devil’s Point with a couple of rehearsals days prior to that. Each movie will be shot in HD over an approximate two month period. Pay will be deferred although copy, credit and food will be provided. A distribution plan is already in place for both movies.

Saturdays, beginning June 11 - August 6, 2011 2:00pm-4:00pm $150

This on-camera intensive is designed to enable the actor to handle commercial auditions, film and TV sides, scenes, and monologues for film. Working with the camera, actors will break down scenes to discover the humor, emotional moments, pacing, beats and more. The class will also explore the fundamentals of film and commercial auditioning, including slating and how to interview effectively, while exploring the entire audition scenario. The class will focus on strengthening performances and working with confidence in front of the camera during cold readings as well as prepared sides.

All exercises and scenes are video-taped with playback critiques an essential part of class time. All students will receive a DVD DEMO REEL of their work at the conclusion of this workshop.

Friends and family members are invited to attend the WRAP PARTY on Saturday August 6, 2011 12:00pm for the screening of Student's DEMO REELS.

Sundays, beginning June 12, 2011 - August 7, 2011 2:00pm-4:00pm $250

Here is your chance to see yourself on the big screen! An intensive on-camera workshop to prepare the teen actor for working on a film or television set. Students will concentrate on the development of acting skills through working on an Original TV show based on shows like I CARLY and THE WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE.

Our script will allow each student to be cast in a substantial role. This class will guide the student, step by step, from the audition process, through preparation and rehearsal to actually filming on a set. In addition, students will also learn industry etiquette and terminology.

Students, friends and family members are invited to attend the WRAP PARTY and SCREENING of the show at the Gateway Film Center. Students will receive a DVD of their show.

Mondays, June 13 - August 8, 2011 7-10:00 $250

An intensive workshop to prepare the actor for working on a film or television set and to produce a clip for their demo reel. Students will concentrate on the development of acting skills through working on a film based on 12 ANGRY MEN, a 1957 film directed by Sidney Lumet. Our modern adaptation of this film will allow each student to be cast in a substantial role.

This class will guide the student, step by step, from the audition process, through preparation and rehearsal to actually filming on a set. In addition, students will also learn industry etiquette and terminology. We will be shooting with two cameras and a film crew to produce a product worthy for the actors' demo reels.

Students, friends and family members are invited to attend the WRAP PARTY and SCREENING of the film at the GATEWAY FILM CENTER. Students will receive a DVD of the film and a individual clip for their demo reels.

The film will also be screened for regional Casting Directors, Agents and Filmmakers.

Thursdays, beginning June 16 - August 4, 2011 7-9:30pm $200

Whether you’re an acting enthusiast who is ready to jump into the action or a professional looking to liven up their next performance or audition, this is the right course for you! It’s a Scene Study class – with a difference. Everyone in class works on scenes from the same author. The plays (or screenplays) are chosen for their complexity, challenge, depth, and for containing the great roles that actors dream of playing. Another difference is that scenes are usually double-cast. At the root is my deeply held philosophy that each actor can bring something unique to each role. Seeing others bring the same role to life, with completely different choices, gives you confidence that you can trust your own ideas and follow your own instincts. It also helps you give up the notion of “doing it right.” There is no “right and wrong” to creativity. In addition, being able to watch each other work on difficult material that you yourself are grappling with intimately, affords invaluable inspiration. Each student will also have the chance to work on two monologues during this eight-week workshop. We will help you choose the best material to showcase your talents or you may work on material already in your repertoire.
